A Seamless, Affordable, and Patient-Centric Telehealth Experience

What inspired this innovative design was the team's realization of the complexities and inconveniences associated with a simple doctor's visit in America. The lengthy waits for appointments, the additional waiting time in clinics, and the high costs associated with healthcare were all factors that motivated the team to create a solution that would make healthcare easier and more patient-centric.

Samsung Health Ask an Expert stands out due to its unique properties. The design enables users to consult with world-class doctors right from their smartphones, breaking down the barriers of traditional healthcare. The team collaborated with major insurance companies to make appointments affordable and partnered with leading hospitals and top-tier doctors to ensure quality care. The intuitive design language and user flow create a seamless user experience, with extra measures taken to optimize affordability, meaningful doctor-patient interaction, and ease of use.

The design was realized using tools such as Sketch, After Effects, Principle, Photoshop, and Invision, with Java being used for programming development. Throughout the design process, the team conducted user studies, used participatory design techniques, and solicited feedback on the end-to-end experience from users in eight states. This research-based approach ensured that the design was user-friendly and met the needs of healthcare consumers.

The main challenge faced by the team was to simplify the American healthcare system while maintaining a visually appealing design language. However, their determination and innovative thinking led to the creation of a design that not only makes healthcare more patient-centric but also provides a great telehealth experience.

The design's excellence has been recognized with the prestigious Platinum A' Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design Award in 2018. This award recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that showcase unmatched professionalism, contribute to societal wellbeing, and make the world a better place.
